As a licensed Elementary School Teacher, I realize the importance of not only a quality education at school, but at home as well. Teachers can’t do it all and it is so important that parents reinforce what is learned at school by sitting with their children and periodically working with them to help enhance their learning.
But what about our babies that haven’t even started school yet? Dr. Robert Titzer created Your Baby Can Read while pursuing his Ph.D for his own infant children.
I was recently blessed with the opportunity to review Your Baby Can Read. I was sent a Deluxe Kit and Mini-Sliding Books for use with my 19 month old daughter.

I have seen the Your Baby Can Read infomercials hundreds of times, but I was anxious to put it to use myself with my own toddler and see the results.
I must admit, the Early Learning Workshop DVD that comes with the program, which you are encouraged to watch before beginning this program with your child, is VERY overwhelming. It is long and unless you have a great attention span (I do not) you may skip the DVD, read the Parents guide and just get started.
The Your Baby Can Read system has five levels. Below is the viewing schedule depending on your child’s age:
We have been working with the program for a little over a month now. Baby Girl is 19 months old and we are following the second viewing schedule. So she just started level two- the orange color. The DVDs use a see it, hear it, say it approach. The words are shown and spoken- in different voices throughout the DVD and in different fonts. To me, this is teaching children that regardless of how a word is presented or who says it- it is still the same word.

I had a huge “proud momma” moment the first day we were reading the flap book and she said “eyes.” Dr. Titzer mentions not to get discouraged if your child doesn’t start to “read” right away. There are plenty of opportunities to review earlier words learned, by viewing previous DVDs even though you have moved forward.
I am so grateful to Your Baby Can Read for giving me the opportunity to have this program to use with my daughter. I am looking forward to Baby Girl’s continued progress and I will be sure to post updates here on the site as we continue to use the Your Baby Can Read program.

Whether you (possibly, eventually) like the product, this is a horrible company to deal with. Regardless of the value of their product they are very lacking in any concept of customer service. Three weeks after ordering and playing full price (taken at the time of order) they still have not delivered product. They did send tracking information, twice, but still show never actually being sent. Save your money, these people are rude and unreliable.
