About Ruff Wear:
“It was a humble beginning, working out of my garage. Ruff Wear was a one person, one dog show… with one product and a single mission, to build innovative gear For Dogs On The Go®. Our primary goal has always been to build performance products that enhance and inspire outdoor adventures for dogs and their human companions. That mission has stood the test of time, and along the way Otis and I have shared amazing adventures, met and worked with incredibly talented people and dogs, and most importantly, had a lot of fun!” Read more about Patrick Kruse, leader of the pack, and his mission by clicking here.
Ruff Wear makes a wide variety of products for “Dogs on the Go.” These products include, but are not limited to:
I was recently blessed with the opportunity to review two products from Ruff Wear’s dog toy line- the Hover Craft™ and the Gourdo™.

About the Hover Craft™:
“Superior flying disc design features a molded foam core to maintain shape and enhance flight performance and flotation. The large disc is regulation size and weight, while the small disc is an excellent choice for smaller breeds and indoor play.
Key Features:
- Tough exterior provides durability and strength
- Soft construction is easy on dog’s teeth and gums
- Bright contrasting colors for visibility“
Suggested Retail:
(S) $14.95
(L) $19.95

About the Gourdo™:
“Ideal for fetching – on land or water. From interactive play, to treat dispensing, to gum massaging, this durable toy does it all. Rope lanyard makes it easy to throw and pick up to avoid the slobbery rubber end.
The obsidian black Gourdo is made from 30% maximum reclaimed-rubber content.
Key Features:
- Can easily be thrown great distances for fetching
- Filled with treats, it keeps a dog’s attention for hours
- Made from natural latex rubber, a renewable and sustainable resource
- Natural rubber is resilient, stretchy, bouncy, and durable
- Gum massaging design“
Suggested Retail:
(S) $9.95
(M, L) $11.95
Kingston THOROUGHLY enjoys both of these toys- he loves the Hover Craft™ when we are outside… he’s not the best fetcher, but he’s learning! I love that the Hover Craft™ is not plastic. Kingston is terribly allergic to plastic and once upon a time he ate a plastic Frisbee… it was not good.
I can’t even explain his love for the Gourdo™… I tried putting treats in it and he lost his mind (in a good way). He loves it for independent play and for playing tug-of-war.
