I really like this bible. I was a bit skeptical of the New Century translation, since I have always used a King James translation of the bible. I find the text easy to follow- I think it would be perfect especially for someone new to the bible. I still prefer older translations of classic scriptures like Psalms 23, but I have that memorized just the way I like it.

The author has included special sections which draw from scripture and touch on topics just for Moms which I really enjoy. It helps you think about daily struggles that you may go through as a Mom and helps you put it into context- what does the bible say about these things and what does God want from you as a Mom? It also helps you related to mothers from the bible and things that they went through in comparison to struggles you may go through today as a mom. I like that there is a question section included of common questions that children may ask about God and the bible and helpful answers. You don’t have to repeat the answers word-for-word, but if you find yourself struggling to answer questions like these, the answers given may give you a good place to start.

Overall, I enjoy this bible. I think it would be a great gift for any mom looking for a bible that provides some inspiration, insight and thought-provoking text from a mother’s perspective. It sits right on my night stand and I read it nightly before bed.
